Almost every app on this list assumes you speak English. Mondly does not, and that single decision makes it the right answer for a large number of learners — a Turkish speaker learning Korean, or a Portuguese speaker learning German, gets an interface and explanations in their own language rather than a detour through English.
The lessons themselves are conventional: short daily units, vocabulary drills, a chatbot conversation and speech scoring. It is competent, cheap on the lifetime plan, and pleasant enough to keep up for a while.
The ceiling arrives fast. Most courses do not go far past A2, and the smaller ones show signs of automated content generation. Use it to get started or to sample a language before committing, not to reach a working level.
